Women empowerment through impact litigation

CDH's Pro Bono & Human Rights practice Director, Brigitta Mangale and Senior Associate Elgene Roos, joined CDH Conversations to discuss the role of impact litigation in enforcing and protecting the rights of women in South Africa. They touch on some of the impactful litigation. They touch on some of the impactful litigation that the practice is involved in, as well as litigation brought by other organisations, which speaks directly to the continued vulnerability of women and the impact restrictive legislation can have on their lived realities. Brigitta and Elgene further discuss the worrying opposition by the State when faced with litigation of this nature and how it is indicative of the society we live in.
