About Demetria: International World Woman of Vision  Health and Wellness Nominee, Demetria Winters is a Mental Health Advocate, author, entrepreneur,Behavioral Health Nurse, and Army Veteran.. As a survivor of childhood trauma and diagnosed with Major Depression, she set out to find a way to effect change in mental health and alleviate stigma in the black community. Focusing on  black women, like herself,  she seeks to provide education and support with her courses,  workshops and books. She is also  involved in political, economic, and clinical forums. That led to her founding Black Butterfly Queens Life Coaching, LLC for black women seeking to overcome their mental and emotional challenges and finding their purpose. Demetria helps these black women divise self care plans that include mindset training, conflict resolution, personal development within her 8 dimensions of wellness curriculum. Loving to write  as part of her own self-care, she decided to take that love to a new level and founded Purple Butterfly Goddess Publishing, LLC. She became a first time author with the collaboration project,  Wake Up Winning No Matter What Vol 2:  Because Losing is Not an Option.  Her second book is a self published poetry collection with a 21 day guided journal called  Wynter’s Prelude. Prior to that she worked in Women and Infant Services for  20 years and was in the Army for 8 years.  Ms.  Winters is currently a member of Southern Crescent Women in Business, Clayton/Dekalb Chapter.  She is also the Registration Management Chair for World Women Conference and Awards Atlanta Chapter.  As the Director of two 501c3s; Shine Bright Vision Service Corp and Aim High Solutions Corp, she helps coordinate membership programs for domestic workers and youth  respectively.  Her hobbies include reading, writing, and taking walks.
