Women in Business Conference: Listening to Your Body: How Balance, Energy, and Emotions Affect Health

Breakout recording from the Women in Business Conference held on March 11th, 2026 at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, CODr. April Schulte, a doctor of acupuncture and Oriental medicine, explains how traditional Chinese medicine views health through the balance of yin and yang energy. Yin represents rest and restoration, while yang represents activity and productivity. When these forces become unbalanced, it can lead to stress, burnout, digestive issues, anxiety, and fatigue. In this talk, she shows how the body’s symptoms are actually signals guiding us toward better health. She explains how key organ systems in Chinese medicine like the kidneys, spleen, and liver influence energy levels, emotions, digestion, and overall well being.Dr. Schulte also shares practical ways to restore balance including better sleep, seasonal nutrition, stress management, movement, and simple qigong exercises that help move energy through the body. Her message is simple: when we learn to listen to our bodies and restore balance, we can lead healthier lives and show up stronger in both business and everyday life.
