Women in Media is a new networking and mentoring initiative, supported by the Walkley Foundation and MEAA, aimed at helping women to achieve equality in the workplace. Through this exciting program, young media women will be mentored by leading industry figures to help them advance in their careers. At the launch, ABC Australian Story host Caroline Jones – the WiM national patron – revealed astonishing insights from her 50 years in broadcasting. She was joined by WiM WA founder Victoria Laurie, who explained the genesis of WIM eight years ago, and MEAA vice president and ABC reporter Philippa McDonald to talk about why the journalists’ union has backed the program.
