Women in Quantum

There isn't just one way into quantum. In the first episode of Behind the Cold, we sit down with three Blueforsians, Dr. Sukriti Singh, Technical Account Manager; Dr. Vera Hansper, Technical Training Lead; and Kirsty Happonen, Manager, Market Access, to talk about their different career paths and experiences working in quantum technology. They also touched on innovative ways of working at Bluefors and how they go the extra mile to understand customers' needs and support their research and applications. From moving out of academic research to changing careers and applying skills from other industries, they share how they found their way to Bluefors and what their roles involve today. They also discuss their experiences as women in scientific and technical fields, representation, mentorship and why working in quantum doesn't always require the background people might expect. Behind the Cold is a series from Bluefors Podcast, hosted by Sheila Surban, where you get to know Blueforsians beyond their job titles. From career stories to everyday life at Bluefors, they share their experiences and what it's like to contribute to the development of cryogenic measurement systems used in scientific research and a wide range of quantum applications.
