Women, Psychedelics, Autonomy and Eugenics with Erika Dyck

from Synchronicity with Noah Lampert

Erika Dyck, PhD (McMaster), MA (USask), BA (Dalhousie), Professor, Canada Research Chair in the History of Medicine stops by Synchronicity to discuss how women have been whitewashed from psychedelic research AND the disturbing case of government sponsored eugenics in Alberta, Canada. It's a doozy! Dr. Dyck's chief interests are in the history of psychiatry, mental health, deinstitutionalization and eugenics. She is the author of Psychedelic Psychiatry which examines the history of LSD experimentation and how it fit within broader trends in the changing orientation of psychiatry during the post-World War II period.
