The Turing Award is generally regarded as the highest honor in computer science. In more than 50 years, only three women have won: Frances Allen, Barbara Liskov, and Shafi Goldwasser, but plenty of brilliant women computer scientists were overlooked:U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Grace Hopper was a trailblazing mathematician who was one of the first programmers to work with the Harvard Mark I computer in the 1940s.
