Wonder Man on Disney Plus, a “Marvel Spotlight,” is a character driven show that centers around one struggling actor Simon Williams, and our favorite character actor (the Mandarin himself) Trevor Slattery. Simon has a secret and so does Trevor. They both are vying for roles in the same movies and places in each others hearts. This is a tremendously acted, solidly written show that was seemingly dumped all at once. Is Disney afraid to be different and is this stance hindering the creativity of everything under their umbrella? Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Sir Ben Kingsley have no business playing these characters with this amount of heart and earnest for an MCU tv show, but they do and they deliver. Please!
