He is a Certified California Naturalist, trained in Wilderness First Aid, a professional hiking guide, park docent, camping leader, former employee of REI as well as a teacher, actor, director, author, husband, father and lifelong outdoorsman.  He lives in Huntington Beach, California with his wife and two daughters.
