Wonderful Grace of Jesus – Greater Than All My Sin 5 | Adult Bible Class

from The Home Church Podcast · host The Home Church of Lodi

Lesson Five: Suffering Grace Intro: We have seen God gives saving grace, serving grace, sanctifying grace and today we will see God gives suffering Grace. Hallelujah! God in His mercy may heal us from sickness or deliver us from sorrow and trouble, but God may choose to give us grace to suffer. Text: 2 Corinthians 8:1-2, 6-7 = we are to abound in “this grace also” 1. Asking why we suffer is the wrong question. However the Bible gives the answer. • All men suffer as a consequence of the fall. Genesis 3:17b; Matthew 25:41 Thank God for His Grace! Galatians 3:13 • All men suffer as a consequence of their sin. Galatians 6:7; Romans 6:23, 7:11 • Christians may suffer as a consequence of our sin. Proverbs 14:14; James 1:15 • We suffer as a consequence of other’s sin. Matthew 18:6 - Example of Jesus – 1 Peter 3:18 - Example of the disciples – John 15:20 • We may suffer as a consequence of God’s chastisement. Hebrews 12:6 2. Sometimes it is God’s will for some to suffer. Regardless of what the “word of faith movement” teaches. • Example of David for his sin. 2 Samuel 12:10 • Example of Israel for their idols. Ezekiel 23:30.49 • Example of Paul for the ministry. Acts 9:16 • Example of Jesus for our sins. Luke 9:22; 22:42 3. God’s grace is always available for our suffering. • God has grace for all our sorrow. 2 Corinthians 1:2-4 • God’s grace is sufficient for any situation. 2 Corinthians 12: 8-10 = even this one! • God is on His throne to give grace for every need. Hebrews 4:16 Conclusion: Are you suffering? Come boldly to the Throne of Grace. Matthew 11:28-30
