Wonderful Joy Ahead

In the midst of life’s trials, It’s so easy to allow cynicism and pessimism to tint the lenses of our outlook on life. What is or could be a good day is sometimes overshadowed by anxiety about the future. And in the times when real suffering strikes, it can seem unbearable to even imagine life to be better in the future. Aren’t you glad your future isn’t a result of your ability to remain positive? Aren’t you glad that often you’re wrong and things ended up better than you could’ve imagined? This Easter we look at Peter’s letter to a struggling church and his reminder to them about the “Wonderful Joy Ahead.” In the midst of their pain, he wants to remind them what God says is ahead for them. Maybe you also need a reminder of what God says is coming for you. Maybe cynicism won’t have the last word. Maybe, just maybe… Jesus gets the last word and He says “death doesn’t win.”
