Woodyard Jr. Lands Big Role for Missouri Tigers

Missouri’s defense just got a massive upgrade with the signing of veteran linebacker Robert Woodyard Jr. from Auburn, bringing rare SEC starting experience and instant impact potential at middle linebacker. A standout last season with 67 tackles and second on his team, Woodyard was one of the top transfer linebackers available and had originally committed to Alabama. His value lies in his leadership, communication skills, and proven ability to tackle and stop the run — all while fitting Missouri’s defensive scheme perfectly. With key starters gone, Woodyard’s arrival is critical to maintaining the Tigers’ defensive excellence, and he’s already ranked 17th on the team’s most important player list — a testament to his immediate impact.
