Word Magic!
from Magical Guidance with Catherine · host Catherine Walters
In this fifth episode of Magical Guidance with Catherine, my Divine Friends and I offer guidance on the power and magic of your words. The words you say to yourself, or self talk, can be positive, negative or instructional. Positive self talk is encouraging, uplighting, loving and makes you feel good. Examples would be, "I love myself. I believe in myself. I trust myself" Negative self talk is critical, judgmental, limiting and doesn't feel good. When you hear this voice aloud or in your head, your self esteem lowers and you feel less than, unworthy, unlovable, etc. Examples of negative self talk would be, "I'm a failure. I'm stupid. I'm an idiot." The negative self talk examples are actually a double whammy. Here's why. Let's take, "I'm stupid." When you tell yourself this, one, you are not only being critical and judgmental about yourself, but also and secondly, because you used a form of the verb, "to be" was used, you identify with the quality that followed it. So, in this example, you judge, criticize and identify yourself as being stupid. Now for some magical guidance. What if you saw and talked to yourself the way the Divine see you and know the truth about you? A simple way to do this is when you use any form of the verb, "to be," you follow it with only positive descriptors. Examples would be, "I am loved. I am caring. I am compassionate. I am confident. I am strong." Notice how good those statements make you feel. Being realistic, you are not always feeling happy, lovable, calm, joyful. Right? How do you express your true feelings in a way that supports you and still speak authentically. Instead of using a form of the verb, to be, you use the verb, feel. Here are some examples: "I felt sad today. I felt lonely yesterday. I feel depressed and disconnected for some reason. I feel angry. I feel ashamed." Notice your words allow you to express the emotions you are feeling yet you don't take on the heavy energy that comes with them. When you speak this way, the energy of these emotions, like anger, flows through you like a river and flow away allowing a new emotion to enter your awareness. This is using the magic and power of your words to help you feel greater ease, flow, love, joy and whatever other qualities you would like to experience in your life. Did you feel the magic? Please share with your friends and colleagues. And make sure you subscribe to Magical Guidance with Catherine.
