Work Ethic and Entitlement

from Church? Hell No · host Dennis Hall

Ordained minister, Dr. Dennis Hall, uses Labor Day to focus on the enormous achievement by American workers in building the Twin Towers – The World Trade Center. He then describes the massive cleanup that was necessary after Al Qaeda affiliated terrorists flew passenger jets into the Twin Towers causing them to collapse in less than 120 minutes. The massive cleanup is also described pointing that out that more than 91,000 people, including firefighters, police officers, city employees, federal workers, contractors and volunteers were involved and in less than a year this toxic pile of rubble was cleared – another great achievement of American workers. Dr. Hall then describes the deterioration of the American workforce that has resulted in massive vacancies among tradespeople. He suggests that this is reflection of the deterioration of the Protestant work ethic and the development of entitlement attitudes. Dr. Hall concludes this podcast suggesting that the growing problems in the American workforce can be overcome by returning to the Protestant work ethic.
