Work/Life - Why Work? | with Cody Wilson

from Kensington Church | We're So Glad You're Here! · host Kensington Podcast Network

For many of us, when we think about work it’s not something we get to do, it’s something we have to do. As a result, very few Americans enjoy their work. That’s why on Monday mornings, no one wakes up, jumps out of bed and screams, “Thank God it’s Monday”. Rather, we have to force ourselves to get out of bed and start working. However, if Mondays are the worst day of the week, Fridays are the best. That’s why we have the saying, “Thank God It’s Friday”. We say, “Thank God it’s Friday” because I don’t have to go to work for the next two days. I don’t have to listen to my boss, talk to my annoying coworkers or deal with the commute. Thank God it’s Friday. So the question is, was work meant to be this way? Was it meant to be this miserable? When we look at the Scriptures, the answer is a resounding no! Because as human beings, we were created with work in mind. It is an essential aspect of what it means to be human. In this series, we will be looking at what God designed work to be, how sin has impacted our work, and how we can reclaim it.
