Today, we serve up to 11,000 youth annually across our four New York City locations, including our main site in lower Manhattan, our supportive housing sites on the Lower East Side, and our satellite site in the South Bronx. The Door’s success lies in our commitment to meeting young people where they are and providing them with the comprehensive and integrated services, they need to reach their potential. Since The Door's inception, our Arts Program has been central to our Justice for Sergio Trinity Advocacy Apprentices Sergio Reyes, a senior at Leadership and Public Service High School in Lower Manhattan, was shot 14 times and killed by police after allegedly holding up a bodega with a fake gun in February 2017. Sergio’s classmates created this three-part podcast to honor their friend and explore the narratives and social forces surrounding the events that led to his death.
