Working Muso Podcast episode 2

from Working Muso Podcast · host Andy Wilson

Welcome to Episode 2 of the Working Muso PodcastIn this bumper episode we have an unusual interview with drummer Jay Irving. Paul talks about the film Crossroads, a road movie with a musical conscience. Paul's enthusiasm for this film is limitless and it's not a big surprise because he's a big blues fan and loves film too. Historically speaking it references the alleged story of Robert Johnson selling his soul to the Devil! I only realised recently that he wrote one of my all time favourites "Sweet Home Chicago".I talk about a book called Playing From The Heart, by Robert L. Doerschuk. (we don't earn revenue from Amazon links. It's just there for your reference!). This book is important to me because it gives an insight into what music really means to some of the most famous musicians. Includes interviews with Chuck Berry, The Edge, Bonnie Raitt, Bootsy Collins, Billy Joel, Ginger Baker, Lars Ulrich and many others. We also discuss...ME! And how I got into playing the sax, how long it took to get into a band, how scary it was and when I started making some money out of music.Rember that the easiest way to receive the podcast is to SUBSCRIBE :-) Click the orange button. Thanks for listening. Next time we have an interview with Rob from http://www.bemuso.com/Andy and Paul
