World Aids Day

from A Gay and A NonGay · host James Barr and Dan Hudson

A special episode for us to talk about how we feel about AIDS and HIV. December 1 marks the 30th anniversary of World AIDS Day. Launched in 1988, the annual observance highlights worldwide efforts to combat HIV/AIDS and is also an occasion to show support for those living with HIV and to remember those who have died from the infection. Join Dan & James as they meet our listener Christian who got in touch after PrEPisode to tell us what it's like to live in London as a HIV+ man in 2018. They then travel to London's Noël Coward Theatre to meet with actor John Benjamin Hickey who is currently starring in the essential must watch play The Inheritance - that explores the generation after the peak of the AIDS crisis, plus journalist Matt Cain joins us to talk about the stigma of life on PrEP and his trip to Russia to investigate how homophobia fuels Russia's HIV epidemic.   Please don't take anything said in this episode as medical advice or absolute fact.
