World Climate Change Report

from African Dialogue · host Channel Africa

When the Paris climate agreement was signed in 2015, almost all nations agreed to come together to limit global warming to below two degrees Celsius but, ideally, to keep it below one-point-five degrees. Last week Monday the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPPC) released an exhaustively researched report on the effects of a 1.5° and 2° Celsius increase in global temperatures. The report warns that we have only twelve years to make global energy infrastructure changes. To help us make sense of the report, we have:• Glen Tyler, SA Team Leader for 350.org (Global Grassroots Climate Movement)• Dr Jim Taylor is an Associate of (Wildlife & Environment Society of South Africa)• Apollos Nwafor, Oxfam Pan Africa Director (Nairobi Kenya)
