The 2026 World Cup has given us some incredible moments. In the third-place match between France and England, both teams continued to add to those moments in the tournament. Fans at Miami Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida were treated to a game that left them at the edge of their seats in the battle for third place. England scored first in the third minute with Declan Rice getting a goal giving England a one-to-nothing lead. In the 18th minute, England increased their lead to two-to-nothing with a goal scored by Ezri Konsa. Just before halftime, England phenom Bukayo Saka would score twice getting a goal in the 37th minute and on a penalty kick in 46th minute giving England a four-to-nothing lead at halftime. England may have had the lead, but France would come back swinging. In the 48th minute, France’s all-world talent Kylian Mbappe would score a goal cutting England’s lead four to one. France’s offense continued to find life when in the 54th minute Bradley Barcola scored a goal cutting England’s lead four to two. France’s offense continued to be in the zone when at the 66th minute Kylian Mbappe would score his second goal now giving England a four to three lead. After France received a yellow card on a penalty, England’s Bukayo Saka would get a hat trick when he score his third goal of the game on a penalty kick in the 87th minute increasing England’s lead five to three. But France would not give up when at the 96th minute Ousmane Dembélé would score a goal cutting England’s lead five to four. But one of the top dogs of the tournament would seal the deal for England as Jude Bellingham scored a goal at the 98th minute giving England a six-to-four win and a third-place finish in the tournament.
