The knockout stage continued as Belgium squared off against Senegal at Seattle Stadium in the city of Seattle, Washington. In the 24th minute of the first half, Senegal got on the board first with a goal scored by Habib Diarra giving Senegal a one to nothing lead. In the 51st minute of the second half, Senegal would extend their lead with a goal scored by Ismalia Sarr giving Senegal a two to nothing lead. Late in the second half at the 86th minute of the game, Belgium got on the board with Romelu Lukaku scoring a goal now giving Senegal a two to one lead. Just before the end of regulation, Belgium would tie the game at two with Youri Tielemans scoring a goal sending the game into overtime. In the overtime period, Senegal would be charged with a penalty giving Belgium a chance to score on a penalty kick. In the 120th + 5th minute of the game, Belgium’s Youri Tielemans would score a goal on the penalty kick giving Belgium the lead and victory three to two. Belgium will face the winner of the United States/Bosnia and Herzegovina match in the round of 16 on July 6th in Seattle, Washington.
