In the 92nd minute, Argentina took a two to one lead with a goal scored by Lisandro Martinez. In the 103rd minute of the game, Cape Verde struck back with a goal scored by Sidny Lopes Cabral to tie the game at two sending the game into overtime. In the overtime period, Cape Verde gave a valiant effort, but Argentina’s Cristian Romero would score a goal which was later credited as an own goal by Cape Verde’s Diney Borges due to Borges’ hand touching the ball giving Argentina the lead and win three to two.
