World Cup Update July 7th, 2026

The round of 16 concluded with an epic matchup between Switzerland and Colombia that had fans at Vancouver Stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada at the edge of their seats. Much of the game tested both teams’ will, endurance and stamina. After both teams failed to score during regulation and overtime, the game would go into a shootout with the score tied at zero. The game would end with Switzerland’s Rubén Vargas scoring the final goal giving Switzerland the win over Colombia in penalty kicks four to three. Switzerland will face Argentina in the quarterfinals on July 11th in Kansas City, Missouri.
