World Cup Update July 9th, 2026

The quarterfinals began with a matchup at Boston Stadium in the city of Foxborough, Massachusetts between France and Morocco. The first half was a tug-of-war as both teams jockeyed for position on offense and displayed great defense as the score would be tied at zero at halftime. The second half saw France getting ahead and putting the game away. In the 60th minute, all-world talent Kylian Mbappe scored a goal to give France a one to nothing lead. In the 66th minute, Ousmane Dembele sealed the deal when he scored a goal increasing France’s lead and giving them a two to nothing win. France will play the winner of the Belgium/Spain match in the semifinals on July 14th in Arlington, Texas.
