World Cup Update June 25th, 2026

Fans showed up and showed out at Los Angeles Stadium in the city of Inglewood, California as the United States Men’s National Team squared off against Turkey in the final game in the group stage of Group D. The first point for the United States came early in the 3rd minute of the first half when USA’s Auston Trusty scored a goal giving the US a one to nothing lead. In the 10th minute of the first half, Turkey would score a goal tying the game at one and later in the 31st minute, Turkey would score another goal giving them a two to one lead at halftime. In the 49TH minute of the second half, the United States regained the lead with Sebastian Berhalter scoring a goal tying the game at two. However, later in the second half Turkey would score a goal giving them a three to two lead going on to win the game. With the loss, the United States Men’s National Team missed out on history by failing to win all their games in a group stage for the first time in history. The loss for the United States does not impact their standing as they move on to the next round in the round of 32 which is the knockout stage to take on Bosnia-Herzegovina.
