Today is World Population Day, a day celebrated to raise awareness about population issues. According to the United Nations the current world population of seven point six billion is expected to reach eight point six billion in 2030 and nine point eight billion in 2050. World Population Day is also used to educate youth to avoid unwanted pregnancies.
