World War 2: Episode 70: July 8-10, 1945

from Letters from the Past · host Scott Ginther

Letters from an U.S. Army Captain deployed to Germany to his wife in Three Oaks, Michigan.   Janey I’m not sure what is in store for me but I surely wish that whatever it is, it happens soon.  I would rather get occupation than to go to the Pacific. Here are two pictures of a group of Germans.  In one you can see the dress of the German girl, not much different from American.  In the other notice the kids, women, and old men.  You never see any men from 18 to 40.  They just aren’t to be found.  Maybe that is why the soldiers are having such a good time.
