Welcome to Worm, a peri-human radio serial. This series is a fan project paying homage to wild bows, web series, worm. This series contains graphic violence, sturarm language, and adult subject matter. Listen at discretion, it's admirable.

However effective bitches power play might have been, it didn't too much to help the tension between the factions making up our group. It hadn't been just hyzer that got spooked and sprayed with blood. Worst case scenario, the fight broke out in the group. I was worried that hard feelings from that one thing could set others against us.

I decided to try to remedy that. Hey, you're one of the travelers, aren't you? What's your name? My co-name?

Yeah. Sundanter. I'm going by skater. Couldn't decide on the names of the media, sort of pick one up for me.

You're one of the outsiders, right? Undersiders. I'm due to the team, honestly, but they're all right. Like that psycho with the dog?

Not as bad as you'd think. How's like among the travelers? Mummy. I wouldn't think that was the case spending time with teammates.

Stuff going on that makes hanging out less fun than it should be. I'm not going to explain it, so don't ask it. I wasn't going to. I was just curious what it's like for other teams since I'm feeling new to this.

It's not just the... I can't think of a better worth in drama, but drama sounds like such an understatement. Whatever. It's not the other step that's going on.

It's that we're constantly moving, rarely spending more than a week in one place, you know? I don't. I move twice as a kid, but I wish you wouldn't remember it. For the most part I grew up here, it gets old, having to.

I was suddenly pushed to one side. The tip of meters tail pressed against the center of my chest and moved me back. Pushed me against the hood a bit dilapidated little car. His blue eyes bored into mine.

They were weird eyes. No whites, just as were blue irises that extended from corner to corner, with rectangular horizontal pupils. Say how's that? They got the trolls in the tag of the building.

That'll be our target today. Two minutes until it gets time to move. Oh, okay. Is that a nail-studded baseball bat he's using?

People actually make those? My girls and I will circle around, attack on the other direction. Hey, no. That's not the deal.

We're in groups like this for a reason, and that reason applies off the window if he's split up like that. I didn't ask for your permission. Are we going to stop them? I can catch up to them.

Eh, not worth it. And it's dangerous to fight amongst ourselves in enemy territory. We don't have time anyways. Bitch, can you cold brew and tattlesail and what have them know?

They can take measures of any too. Fine. And let's talk, Planet of Attack. Skitter bitch, you two have the most experience dealing with these guys, so start us off.

This place is important enough to patrol. It's important enough to have some traps. Let me send my bugs in first. I can get the label in, and the bugs will also confuse and distract anyone inside, which should make things easier on you guys.

Okay, that's step one. Bitch, can you and your dogs hit the ground floor? I'll go to the second floor window. Easy.

The bugs won't bite her? No, we'll bite you either. Eh, they couldn't if they tried. Some dancer, what can you do?

I am armtillering, but I've got the same problem ballistic guys, or we haven't too many. I'm not sure I can use my power without a perting a lot of people doing that. Then stay back with labyrinth. You two be ready to cover our retreat.

Or move in if we run into trouble. Sounds like you know what you're doing. Maybe some of the fault lines rubbed off on me. 20 seconds.

You two, close guys. Can you or take care of position on the rooftop? Here, we'll support you with cover fire. Uh, good.

Try not to kill anyone. Five seconds. Scooter, start us off. I reached out to all the bugs I gathered.

Might as the ones I was keeping beneath my costume. I directed them towards the building. There were a fair number of people inside, which wasn't a huge surprise, but my bugs were making a lot of contact with bare skin. The people here were already newly naked, stripped down to their underwear.

Plastic bag using powder filled with long tables nearby, so I guess this was some sort of drug operation. I found two dome-shaped bulges on the other side of the stairwell. There's something there. Give me a second.

I took a page out of Gru's playbook, and we have a group of bugs together into a densely packed, vaguely humanoid shape. I moved that collection of bugs through the door until I placed with a little dome sat. Motion detectors, I think. Or proximity activated.

Boom! 20 or 30 people on the ground floor are unpacking. It captures all this car. Brutus is clear of traps as I can get it.

Go! Let's go! Titch Hunter dogs crash into the door, neuter intercepted the first few people to try to escape. He leaped to close 15th gaps as fast as I could from the punch, moving from one person to the next, dropping each of them in an instant before running through the second story window.

I felt neuter brush past several of my bugs, sending them reeling to the ground stun. His puddly glutes were potent hallucinogens. One touch from him was enough to send you off to Lella Land. Anything bug or human that touched him went down for the count.

Neuter was on the second floor, probably dodging bullets. I set my bugs crawling to the people who might shoot him. Kaiser Fania and Mina were attacking from the side of the building office at us. They had drawn the attention of most of the armed agents and patrols, leaving Bitch and her dogs stranded in the midst of one or two dozen unarmed, unclothed panicking people.

I realized completely that someone had walked off the roof and tried to reach the fighting. The edge of the offending barrier within sharp blades. That Mina Kaiser would be the one who had walked her. Was it intentional or had he been cutting off the ABD's escape routes?

The thugs were collapsing as neuter removed in their midst and knocked each of them out with a touch. One or two even collapsed without him touching them. Something else? Blood?

Sit? Only one remained standing. He and Neuter shook with one another. My bugs heard having much effect on him since he was wearing something over his face.

No, wait, there was a second person just behind Neuter. How about I not noticed him? Then the first disappeared and I knew. Bitch, come on, answer, answer, fuck!

My bugs were sounding a few more squashed as neuter collapsed on top of them. He wasn't moving. Answer, Bitch! What's wrong?

Neuter's hurt. Hey, what the fuck's happening? Bitch, second floor, neuter's wounded. Only Lea's in the building.

As long as he's here too. What's there? He's with Kaiser. I can't get to them.

Asshole, block the door with giant knives. Ignore lung, priorities are neuter and only Lea. Can you get upstairs for rescue neuter? I can't ride Brutus in there, I'll have to dismount.

Then draw him outside, watch your back, I'm coming in. What are you doing? Only Lea is a freaking assassin. I can't leave Bitch on her own.

Bitch, so running Brutus, can rushing up the loading bay door. Due to only a step behind. Through the whole explosion I'd made in the wall, I saw Angelica climbing up the stairs. Due to slunch up and through the window at the opposite end of the second floor hallway, trapping only Lea in between them.

He had already appeared just behind Bitch, half crouching on Brutus's back. There was a flash of steel in his other hand as he reached around her throat with a blade. He fell on top of Bitch's shoulder and then collapsed to the ground. A second later, he exploded into a cloud of white ash.

Fuck. I glanced over my shoulder, saw the dark silhouettes of Coils men lying down at the edge of the rooftop. One had a pair of binoculars, the other was set up behind a long rifle with a prominent scope. A sniper team.

Anyone else would be dead by now, but the fact that the body had exploded into dust, and it was just a clone, who left over remaining behind after only Lea teleported away. Bitch, you okay? The fucking steel on my throat, but yeah. Where'd he go?

At the cypress, I'm how they're holding their own. Agh! I saw the rifle fall from the edge of the roof as the two soldiers struggled with a pair of omelius. Then puffed, the clones were gone, and there was enough white dust around them that they wouldn't be drawing a bead on him again, if if they hadn't lost the rifle.

Brutus reared like a panic towards, and I saw only Lea drop from the side of his head, then in the crouching lunge for me, a knife in each hand. I swatted at his hands with one bit on. Hand sees me from behind, and the rough Nelson hold, pulling my arms out of the way as another only materialized out of the dust in front of me, ready to capitalize on my inability to defend myself. I brought both my legs up at a kit at omelius stomach, they connected and he doubled over.

Brutus kill! Both the omelius that was holding me at the one clasped in Brutus's jaws, returned to carbon ash. As Bitch managed to get Brutus in her control, I saw his face. One of his eyes was some ruins, his volumes of blood and other liquids were flowing from it.

Agh! The symbol out of a finger appeared 20 feet to my right. He whipped his arm in my direction, and I didn't have any time to do much more than turn before something collided with my head. I stumbled over and fell backwards.

I realized that a small knife was embedded in the armored section of my mask, cracking the lens. I pulled it free and pulled myself to my feet. I had enough bugs around me now that I could be sure he wasn't attacking us, but that just raised the question of where he was. Bitch, you okay?

Fucker, stab me in the arm! If that's the worst injury we get away with today, then we can have ourselves lucky. I got out just in time to see only Lee attacking one of Quail's snipers off the edge of the road. Lee only disappeared in a cloud of white before he hit the ground.

I was pretty sure this never hadn't. Sand answer was crumpled over, labyrinth holding her shoulders. This was not going well. Only Lee appeared 30 feet away from me, standing just to my left and behind me.

My bugs gave me a sense of disposition before anything else, and threw myself to one side. And my command, the bugs said it alerted me to his position, gathered on him, and began biting and stinging. Then I noticed something weird. More bugs popped into existence in the middle of a cloud, and your son did certain labyrinth.

I felt the original bugs perish as they exploded into ash. He was taking them with him. I don't think he could help it. I could track his movements.

Bitch, why? I can see where he's teleporting. Get you to San Angelica. Where the fuck is he?

Behind you! Get one dog near our friend's outside. We should join them ASAP. Bye.

Hop on. As we approached San Dancer and Labyrinth, the side box and either side of us dropped out of existence, leaving only a bottomless paper they had been. Then the buildings began to rise in height, summoning over the street and joining with the others in grotesque arches and bridges. Brickworks stretched and extended into the alleyways, closing them off.

Then windows began to shrink and warp, leaving only flat expanses of brick, concrete, and stoop up for the building faces. Under our feet, the road began to shift in color, with some patches becoming paler and others darkening. They sharpened the definition as they settled into the end alabaster white and jet black. At Checkerboard, Bruda said to leap out of the way as one of the squares of the checkerboard suddenly rose up.

As if in response to other stories began to rise and fall, each to varying almost random heights. What the fuck is going on here? Labyrinth, this is you. She didn't reply.

Instead, she reached out and touched the side of my chin. The images of arches, pillars, and checkerboard patterns fell away like a house of cards. Colors, nations. No, they're not always nations.

You can explain because you can't or don't talk. Only leaves over there. He was stumbling, moving to avoid something that wasn't there. He was still there, trying to get to the balance as I felt more bugs appear at another point in the opposite side of us.

Only he appeared 15 feet in the air, fell, and landed in an awkward position, falling over. Bitch, over there. Yeah, take him. Only leaves response was delayed, as if he couldn't even see her over her reverse.

I felt more bugs pop into existence a second before she sat her jaws on him. There. Over there. One of only shins exploded in the spray of blood.

As he vanished, I followed the sound of a chamber before the spot cools diaper. He was lying on a side of the foot of a building, one arm out stretched and hold his rifle steady. His right leg was bent the wrong way. He'd been knocked off a three-story building, had a broken leg at the very least, and had still managed to retrieve, load, and fire his rifle.

If he was willing to be that professional, I could damn well play a spotter for him. On the roof. Where is he? He's gone out of my range.

Damn it! Good. You okay? He got to make shoulder.

I'll need stitches, but it's not the worst injury I've had. Okay, um, man. Close guy. You gonna be alright?

Ugh. Yeah. Labyrinth, watch him. Make sure he keeps breathing and that his buddy knows where he is.

Sundance, our bitch. We've got to go help neuter. We should be fighting long, not helping the freak. What?

Why wouldn't we help him? His fault if he got hurt. And if you got hurt, you'd want us to leave. You fucking know, but I wouldn't be surprised if you did.

But we're helping him. Yeah? Well, I'm the one telling Brutus where to go. We let him die.

You think both lines gonna let that slide? She might hurt her, killed her, killed her in the region of retaliation. I was lying in a pile of blood, in the midst of a bunch of thugs who were all lying down, calling and reviving oblivious to my existence. Lying.

Need her had a knife wound just below his shoulder blade that traced her on his side. As long as my forearm deep enough that I couldn't tell how bad the damage was. He was breathing, but his breaths were shallow enough that I almost couldn't tell. I was here.

I could bend down to touch him, but I was helpless to do anything. One was after I made contact with the skin, even with my gloves on, and I'd probably be on some hallucinogenic drug trip, flopping around like a fish on our land. Bitch, come downstairs. Check the supplies that we're using for the drugs.

Look at rubber gloves, saran wrap, anything like that. If you can't find anything, look at the bathroom out of the sinks. It'll be a first aid kit, but if you can find one, bring it. What are we doing?

You're staying with him. See if you can get a response, talk to him. I'm checking in a route with supplies. Entering the office, I confirm my suspicions about the existence of the bed.

I begin stripping the badly stained sheets off. My bugs weren't doing much, so I sent them the task of collecting the money that I'm in left and open safe nearby. It wasn't perfect, it was a little clumsy, but it still caught me off guard just how well they were able to coordinate for something like that, without any conscious direction on my part. I couldn't let myself get distracted.

I could put my bugs on autopilot and have them finish the job while I focused on more important things. Pulling off the bed sheets, I uncovered a plastic sheet. The kind of used when your kids wet the bed. Don't have drug addicts, too, maybe.

The top of the plastic sheet looked kinda grody, but I wasn't in the position of the picky. I pulled it off the mattress, followed up in my hands, and hurried back into the hall. Son, it's her help me get this on top of him. Found two pairs of plastic gloves and some rubber gloves under a sink for a staid kit, too, but it feels light.

Open it. Tell me what's inside fast. You've got some tape bandages, thermometer, safety pins, rubbing alcohol, soap needle, thread. No.

Goss pads, beginges. Go downstairs. There's people who are here, took their clothes off, and my bugs say they're attached to the clothes in the room below us. If I meet some persons, there's many people who can grab, as fast as you can grab them.

What? Fucking no! Fine! Bandages are gonna be too small.

Dows them in the alcohol, use them to clean the injury of blood. Use the dry bandages to pad a dry so the tape can stick. Don't be afraid to get in the womb, just be gentle. But what about it?

You know, no moment. Fingo, sanitary pad. Cyril, absorbent, covers more area than a bandage can. If he lives, his teammates might give him a hard time, but it's better than nothing.

You didn't take it down all the way. Only three sides of him can breathe. I think that's right. Now, help me put this guy in the room so we can get him out of here.

All in his hand is wide across his hand and crashed through the wall. The whole building shutters as another hand punched through the brick of the wall, 20 feet from the first hole. Fingers grip the building and pulled the entire section of the wall out in one piece. Go!

Take him to the others. The whole title tells you'll get the number for that cave doctor. Get medical attention for anyone who needs it. There's a do not fuck with me here!

Just an instant later, a half dozen AV members retreated into the warehouse through the hole, taking cover from the giant asses. They saw us in shock, stopped short, Larry, weapons ready but not raised or pointed at us. Long followed his thugs into the room. He was bigger than I'd seen him get at nearly 15 feet in height, and was covered in layers of scales that left him barely recognizable as human.

Spare like growth stuck out of his shoulders in what I realized with the beginnings of wings. His mask had been torn off at some point and the features of his face had been warped by his transformation. The shape of his skull and face were more cat-like than human. His nose and mouth were a single X-shaped opening, bursting with pointed teeth that stuck in every direction.

I can see why he usually wore the mask. Bitch, if you don't leave now, I don't think you're going to get another chance. But you will- which do you want more to bite here or now, or to make sure fault line in the other groups don't have any excuse to do anything for teammates? I saw her hesitate.

The fact that she even had to think about it. I could have slapped her. Be better for your end, abomination. Girls, deal with the filth.

I'll see her along myself. Brutus, relieving, leaving, and dead guard. Kaiser, what the fuck did you cut us off? Yeah?

Me? Some history? I made his crotch rot off. What?

Accidentally? How are you? Down, undersiders. My girls not have as well in hand.

Yeah. Do you? Because lung looks like he's in pretty good shape there. You know how this works, right?

You only get stronger the longer you bite him. If you haven't finished him off by now, you're probably not going to. Lung crayon's neck to look at Kaiser and I shivered. His neck alone was nearly as big as my torso, tapering down to more or less normal sized head.

What was creepier was that he bent his neck and a U-shape to look behind himself. It wouldn't be long before he wasn't recognizable as something who would want him human. Well, what would you propose then? Sundancer and I will help out.

Before I could figure out what he just said to me, he lunged straight at me, passing between two of his people, moving at all four, before Judas intercepted him. When Angelica made her move, lung was ready for her. He got hold of her snout in four claw before she could do any damage and leverage her forward, omentim to throw her to. Stranded Judas.

Lung didn't drop toll-force again as he advanced towards me. Instead, he flexed his right hand and my eyes were drawn to the foot-long blade that tipped each finger. Sundancer, help me out. I use my power, I'll probably hurt you worse than I hurt him.

That line is getting old really fast. Lung was walled in by several growths of metal ripping out from the ground. Kaiser's work. Unfazed lung left for the raptors up in the ceiling.

Once he had a grip up there, it would be a matter of using his grip on the steel girders that lined the ceiling to jump straight at me. Except he didn't get that far. A square pillar of steel is taller as long as an 18 miller spear downward from the ground straight at him. A couple lungs make midsection and turn to have him towards the ground, hard.

Thank you. Thank you. And you wish. Screw this.

I'm out of here. As his books led the two of Balicares, Lung started climbing to his feet. When we had a pyramid of crisscrossing blades, peer up around him. Blades appeared under under his arms, just beneath his armpit.

Put it behind his knee by his groin with dozens more powerful above and around him. Before he could find a way out, he was trapped, buried and hidden under the layers of steel. Kaiser inclined his chin, looked at the ceiling and I saw a shimmer. The tip of a blade began to emerge under the iron gird.

Only 20 feet wide. Lung had a void of the blade. The side of the pyramid closed to make a load of white oranges. The blade's curling and sagging in the intensity of the heat.

It's often the metal enough with its pyrokinesis that he could use his monster strength and push his way free. Enough at least to avoid being divided into. You're an animal lung. Even without your powers making you a du- this.

Go down. A spear of solid steel erected from the wall and slammed into lung, carrying to the end of the room, opposite would you to San Angelicore. Your people are no better. That shall be dealt with in the same manner.

Agh! Agh! Tiger like blades appears to the top of a mobster's feet midstride. As he uses his hands to break his fall, another set of blades push through his palms.

He comes hands and knees, effectively nailed to the ground. Kaiser, no! Not your business little girl. This is wrong!

Wrong? As far as I'm concerned, the moment you need to fall back on mortals to argue something, you've already lost. This is war! One of the giant tests, twin-satted, taking one of his friends to direct a kill with the military.

Just to fire with her shield. A few seconds later, she was stumbling back and away from lung and threw her shield away to avoid having the heated metal burn her arm. Kaiser's team isn't going to win this on their own. As much as I despise saying, it's stepping in and helping him.

Sundance her, and that would be a great time to use her power. It's not... No, I'll burn them. Then burn them!

If you don't use your power, I can pretty much guarantee you lung will burn them worse. Dout it, but here goes. Only a fraction of a second, but enough to laugh and do to spot this in her life, which I'll hurt and tell and gel it will shove itself. The contour should run away, praying it wouldn't fall in the drink.

She'll just stop, stay! Sundance her and managed to get her power going. A bowl of lights have between her hands, but that seemed to be all. Then I saw the floor.

The asphalt was melting. She dropped her hands at the bowl of light rose. Like the head of mind of its own, it darted towards lungs, being left and brightened up and down. Kaiser was apparently unwilling to let send it to steal the show, because he brought a shaft of metal out of the wall behind lung, shoving lung towards the orb.

Sundance removed the wall back, but just the second or so of close proximity to the wall, was enough to take the fight out of lung. Wasn't he supposed to be fireproof, or was that immediately only to the flames he made with his own power? Or, I thought, was the bowl plate that hot? Then the light of Sundance's orb went out.

Lung was limp, his arms dangling out of his sides. He was still bent over and might have fallen face first into the tar. If it wasn't for the spear of iron that was impaling him through the heart. What did you do?

Obviously I ended it! It was already over! Not while the beast was alive, it wasn't. It was just a flash of crimson in the corner of my eye.

I looked and I saw lung's wings fully unfurled. Like the wings of a bat, they had silvery scales where the bat had fur, and the flesh that stretched between the fingers of the wings was the deep dark red of blood. Lung grabbed the spear that in impaled his chest and snapped it with his claws. He stood in his entire midsection, seemed to arrange, so he stood in another fortitude collar.

Taking note of the fragment that was still embedded in his chest, he slowly slotted out. Sundance, or run! But the events that followed seemed to happen in slow motion. Lung repeated what he'd been trying to do as the fight opened, only nothing seemed to be capable of getting him's way now.

He was faster, stronger, and more maneuverable. He longed short, Kaiser, using his wings to carry him effortlessly above a growth of steel blades. Reaching Kaiser, he slammed the man into a wall repeatedly. Then he had to drop her spear, catch Kaiser in her arms, which seemed to be exactly what Lung wanted.

The two giant tested staggered back, which gave Lung the opportunity to dart across the floor and drive his flattened, clawed handed to Menia's belly with a knife. Sister! Braced his bloody claw on, and the flaming tongue in his hands dissipated. Slipping out of her grasp like a greased eagle.

Sundance, or at least, was higher. She wasn't, however, invincible. Lung was made visible again, revealed to be standing right in front of her. He barely seemed to care that she was there as he backhanded her side.

Just me left really. He swallowed hard, drew my very underwhelming knife, and stood straight facing lung. Please don't burn me, please, please, look at this knife and see it as an insult. Excuse me, basically?

No, back back! My bugs gathered on Lung, but as far as I could tell, there was no skin anymore. I've blushed the bite, nothing distinct. Don't you touch her!

Bitch, no! When you have dropped the initial impact, lung threw ridges to the side, and began crushing first. AHHHHH! Stop!

I'm the one you want, aren't I? It always sounded so good when you heard it in the movies. As I realized what I just said, it only sounded stupid. It advanced towards me, carrying bitch like a careless seven-year-old vicariet cat.

I backed away, but it strived as long enough for him to close the gap effortlessly. He grabbed me and had to me into the air, lifting me above his head so he could look up at me. He couldn't talk, so he couldn't even fall back in the tired old cliche of getting him to monologue. The fabric of my costume was preventing the edges of his claws from cutting into me, but it wasn't reinforced that stopped me from being crushed.

They directed a bug into his eye. They'd stay there, wings fluttering him to coddle. It was annoying enough for him to drop bitch and deal with it, shouting her to the ground and holding her down with his claw foot. That done, he was the point of his claw to pick the bug from his eye socket.

He lowered his arms so I was at eye level. Then he squeezed again, weaker than the first time. Shook me, not as hard as he could have. Then his arms sagged again and told me to toes were rushing the ground.

After shaking me, his grip was loosened and he hadn't really tightened it, so I managed to get my knees against the base of his palm and shut myself backwards, pushed myself free. My feet touched the asphalt and I backed up a few steps. Don't fucking underestimate me. Bitch, you okay?

Wasn't sure if it would work or if it would be enough. Took a bit of caterpillar, had a rich swab in the pool of blood neuter left upstairs and matched the thing among his eye. You. Big and tough as he is, a drug that's strong and the mucous membranes of the eyes so close to the brain, apparently it's enough.

Now what? A moment, I'm going to contact the others. Hi. Hey, Lemon.

See, grass, you wouldn't believe it. We hung on the back of those workshops. The stuff she has in here is crazy. No time to chat.

I need to talk to Hetel fast. She's checking the place for booby traps. The structure is probably not a good idea. Kind of important.

All right. Hey. Quick question. I have to be sure which is why I'm calling you.

Lung heals, right? Yeah. Wait, lungs there? Unconscious at my feet.

But I don't know how long so enters fast. He heals. He's already healing what I did to him from last time, right? Right.

He'll pretty much heal anything given time provided he isn't dead. Who's in arm, he'll grow it back in a few months. Thanks. That's what I needed to know.

Good luck with the booby traps. Thanks. Why do you have a knife out? I'm ending this.

I jammed the knife into Wong's eye socket. He's heading consequently his eyes weren't as large as you think in proportion to the rest of his frame. But the tissue around it was tough. I had to leverage the knife back and forth before I was able to pry his eyeball out.

The second I was faster, they'll know less messy. The dogs are okay. No, heal when they turn back to normal. Son, answer.

Get your sister to a hospital or whichever doctor you guys use. Get your boss taken care of. Oh, yeah. And one other thing.

I'll leave it to you to make the call. But if you think Kaiser has a sense of honor, maybe point out it would be bad for him to push the point of the dog fighting thing after we dealt with Wong for him and save his life. Let's go. Rock and Bay 911.

What is it, emergency? Multiple injured weir has a white morn sunset. Send police in case two. These guys are AB members.

That's white morn sunset. White morn sunset, yes. Listen, the leader of the ABB, a pair of human by the name of Wong is incapacitated at the scene. But that won't be entirely true for Wong.

He's drugged and blinded, but the drugs will be out of his system for too long. You're okay. Can I get your identification? I repeat, he's drugged and blinded, but only the blindness will be a factor when the first responders arrive in the scene.

We're going to be careful. You can also tell them that a second pair of human calling himself only was present. That's why after being injured. You may still be in the area.

I understand. The protected will be informed before they arrive on the scene. I've got ambulance police and PRT teams on their way. Can I please get your identification?

Not a chance. I still can't believe you carved his eyes out. Yeah. He'll heal eventually.

You blinded someone who was helpless to fight back. That's kind of fucked up. It wasn't necessary. Hey, bitch.

Why'd you come back? The other soldier said he was a trained medic. He told me you could handle it, so I came back to fight. Ah, got it.

Bitch hadn't been lying, I saw it as we approached the rest of our group. New door was bandaged and awake while the other soldier was lying down unconscious. Maybe drugged for the pain. You okay?

Definitely not look. Been a bit of my um, unique vibe. This fellow says you guys probably saved my life. Honest, I'm having a hard time believing you're up and talking right now.

Anyways, thanks. No problem. Look, we should get out of here in the next few minutes. Cave's cops and ambulances are on their way to deal with the aftermath.

All right. I wouldn't question to ask, as well, army approaches dropped those offs. Oh yeah, um, I forgot I did that. It didn't feel right to leave the ABB's money behind if we wound up retreating, so I had my bugs hollowed out of there.

Everyone might just take a bag. No one can take it. Are you sure? Consider it a bonus, so thanks for helping.

It's not exactly divinely to be fair, so no one saw them tend to have any of them end up being a bad fool of ones. No complaints. I'll hold that one for it. 11.

Is she okay? Pretty much normal for her. Anyways. You guys need a ride?

We'll head back to one of our hideouts through the sewers there. No, you're territory to me. Is that a good idea with your injury? I mean, stating the obvious, but it's going to be pretty gross down there.

I can't get an infection. My biology's toxic. The bacteria is in the parasites, I think. Never been sick, but I can remember.

Right. And you guys, Brad, Sundance was going the opposite way, so she said a brief goodbye and left. Neuter and Labyrinth were walking in the same direction as Bitch and I, so we walked together. Labyrinth walked like she was in a date with Neuter leading her along by the hand like she was a child.

It was interesting not just to see that kind of interaction between them, but knowing that her gloves looked like cloth, and that he was probably risking drugging her. Unless she was immune. A consequence of her ability? He caught me looking, smiling, and shrugged.

Autistic? At first, she seems like she was a normal kid into her power showed up. Since then, she's been off on her own little world more or less. A little worse right now, I think, after seeing me hurt.

That happens? Sometimes getting powers flexed up your body, sometimes it flexed up your head. Bad luck, but you deal with the cards you dealt. Oh.

Eh, it's cool. She's really fond of us, and we're attached to her too. She has her lucid moments when she, she's let us know she's cool with that as well. Sure, she has bad days when she's dead to the world, but all of our powers have brought back.

Yeah? Yeah. I think we're okay, where we're at. Ale?

You've been happy since you got out of that place? Yeah, you can tell because of the stuff she does with the powers is prettier these days. This is where we are based. A labyrinth glanced down to where he was pointing.

A moment later, a tracery of silver lines spider left out of the mantle cover, extending and working like veins. As the lines met and sectioned off parts of the road, the bits of road lifted and flipped over, revealing a white marble texture on their undersides. Once officially surrounded by the expense of cracked white marble, the mantle flipped over, revealing a silvery underside and then popped open on the unseen hinge. A spiral stairway of more marble or ivory led down to the depths.

The way walls had a point to think low to them. That'd be cool, huh? Alright, thanks guys. Sure thing.

Later. Later. Awesome, to have the wind blowing in my hair as we rode down the empty streets. The perfect wind down from the crazy eternal and rush that had come with going up against only and long within minutes of each other.

It closed my eyes and left attention to flow out of me. It was still early afternoon, so the beach was deserted, and it wasn't the sort of beach that saw much tourist use anyways. The concrete walls separated the beach from the road side above us, and a yawning hole with the rusty remains of what had once been a great mark, the exit of various storm drains beneath the docks. I don't have a change of clothes with me.

Or stash them anywhere. I wasn't thinking ahead when I decided to go. Sue me. Tank top and stretch shorts?

I touched the side of my neck, but it wasn't possible to see that part of myself without a mirror. I did realize what she was talking about after a moment's thought. It pulled up the side of my tank top, and sure enough there was a red black room at the stomach and waist. Hacking up my top a bit more, I found another at my ribs.

I knew there would be another up near my armpit, and one in circling my neck. I had a giant fucking handprint on my body, courtesy of long. No way I can hide this from my dad. Something warm settled over my shoulders.

Out to bitches, she finished dripping her jacket over me. I should wear back her eyebrows furrowed, glaring at me. I wrangled the bags in the bundle of my costume so I could get my arms through the sleeves and do off the buttons. It was a canvas down jacket with a fur rough color, but it was the wrong size for me, and it was heavy.

The pockets I found, as I tried to jam my hands in there, were filled with stuff. A mess of plastic bags, chocolate bars, protein bars, juice box, pellets that ground together, but I guess with dog treats or dog food. Not exactly a cape supplies. All in all, it was almost uncomfortable, but it was warm.

Thank you. Doesn't matter. Thank you. You already said that.

Mine, I can take it back. Of course. Uh, do you want to? Huh.

Okay then. I returned to my room in the loft and dug through the shopping bag that still had in there, finding a loose pair of jeans and a logistic shirt to pull over the top. No clean socks, sadly, but there were some covers laid out on the bed. I grabbed some and dragged them behind me to the living room, where a bitch was watching TV.

She gave me the evil eye, but didn't complain, as I got myself bundled up and covered some of the other couch. Hey, bitch. Um, when we were talking a little bit ago, I thanked you. Did that sound sarcastic to you, or what?

Did you get her my teeth again? No, not what I was trying to do, but I'm just wondering. Oh, hey, you didn't answer me. Is that money we grabbed?

You can keep all of it. Yes. We earned that, right? The both of us?

I won't tell the others if you don't. And I'm saying you can have it all. Not sure how much it is, but it'd be yours. I'm not sure.

Just answer my question. You can even tell me to get lost after. I'll cut my room and grab a nap or something. So what I was asking before when I said thanks, did you think I was sarcastic?

Did you think I was genuine? What? You need to know or you can't remember? I don't know.

Fine, whatever. Money's yours. That's all I wanted to know. Hey, good to see you came out intact.

Hey, no missing limbs. No deaths. Nothing we can't fix. Seems intact to me.

Not really hurt ugly as this looks, and I think I'm feeling better about the school thing. I was talking to neuter. You know, labyrinth is kind of out of it, because of her power, right? No.

No. I've been thinking, but I don't want to build up some theory in my head making assumptions and embarrass myself. She's really good at reading body language, right? She could be Brian even when he was born by his darkness with a mask on.

It's what? Some kind of minor power curse? No. That's the thing.

What I'm thinking is, maybe when her power gave her the ability to understand dogs that overrope something else, about their ability to deal with people? Yeah. So what? She can't read expressions or tell them then.

So she's not really associated, huh? No, nothing. Why didn't you say anything? Okay.

To the others now? I was reminded of a book I read where a kid got half with your high school before his teachers realized he was illiterate. He did it by being in the class clown by acting out. It was bitch the same.

The violence and hostility could be a cover to distract from her own inability to interact at least partially. I guess the fair bit of it was genuine though. She had had a crappy childhood. She lived on the streets and had fought tooth and nail to get by and avoid arrest.

But at the end of the day, there's all word as I felt in day-to-day interactions. She was 100 times worse off. Um, who did some convocation? Well, excuse me, glory girl.

I mean, I just stopped babysitting you. Little shorts that here. Hey! And on top of that, I have my jackass cousins reading down like that.

We're right here, you know. Shut up, person. The assignments were given out by the back of my bureaucrats, okay? I'm sorry that you didn't wind up with gallets instead of me.

I got that, please. Better for the mission anyway. They have shame if any of us are caught with our pants now. I get it!

People, focus, we've got a job to do. And as alluded, he was about it. Wait, that's nothing. Clockwalker has a point about staying vigilant.

The entire city has been classified as a war zone. Every building we see here could potentially house a trip of soldiers, or one above those weapons. For straight pieces of refuse, lying around could be an explosive. Okay, now I want you to shut up.

Hey, uh, Vista. Would you mind getting us to that building over there? I think there's something going on over there. Come on, I saw a bunch of ED guys walking into it earlier, and one of them kind of looked like that pocketed girl.
