While there, a woman who is rumored to live a sinful life lavished an expensive gift of perfume on Jesus’s feet and dries them her hair. When Simon and other guests are scandalized by this act, Jesus draws a contrast between the care and generosity she demonstrated with the lack of provisions and welcome Simon provided.
