Worship YHWH in Spirit and Truth | 3650 Minutes of Prayer

from Psalms23Wave · host Mathew Sekanjako

This is Day Twenty of 3650 Minutes of Prayer. This episode centers on the call of Yeshua to worship the Father in spirit and in truth and on the gift of the Holy Spirit who makes this worship possible. John 4:24 shows that God is Spirit and that true worship comes from the inner man, born of the Spirit and anchored in truth, not in place or ritual. In John 4, Jesus tells the Samaritan woman that worship is no longer tied to a mountain or a city but to spirit and truth. Worship flows from hearts made alive by the Holy Spirit and aligned with the revelation of Christ. In Acts 1, the risen Lord tells the disciples to wait for the Promise of the Father, the Holy Spirit, who would come with power and make them His witnesses. In Acts 2, on the day of Pentecost, they are all filled with the Holy Spirit and begin to speak as the Spirit gives utterance. This is a language from the Spirit: tongues, praise, prayer, and declaration about the mighty works of God that go beyond natural vocabulary. To worship in spirit and truth is to yield to this inner language and leading, letting the Spirit shape both our words and our posture in worship.Today we thank the Father for His Promise and welcome the Holy Spirit afresh. We lay down our own effort, open our hearts, and receive His language in worship, whether with understanding or beyond it. Our desire is that YHWH would be adored in spirit and in truth by a people filled, led, and set on fire by the Holy Spirit.Prayer and Reflection Scriptures (AMP)John 4:23–24 (AMP)“But a time is coming and is already here when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit [from the heart, the inner self] and in truth, for the Father seeks such people to be His worshipers. God is spirit [the Source of life, yet invisible to mankind], and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”Acts 1:4–5, 8 (AMP)“While being together and eating with them, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, ‘Of which,’ He said, ‘you have heard Me speak, for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized and empowered and united with the Holy Spirit, not long from now.’ … ‘But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.’”Acts 2:1–4, 11 (AMP)“When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place, and suddenly a sound came from heaven like a rushing violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. There appeared to them tongues resembling fire, which were being distributed among them, and they rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out. … ‘we hear them speaking in our own tongues about the mighty works of God.’”Word Insight: Worship, Spirit, TruthGreek (New Testament)proskyneo – to bow, fall before, adore in worship.pneuma – spirit, breath, wind; the Holy Spirit and the human spirit made alive by God.aletheia – truth, unveiled reality, what agrees with God as He truly is.Unified meaningTo worship YHWH in spirit and truth is to adore Him from a reborn inner man, carried by the Holy Spirit and grounded in the revelation of Jesus Christ. It is worship that does not depend on place or form but on the Spirit’s life and language flowing through yielded hearts. There is One true God, the Creator of all things, revealed in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. There is One God and One Spirit Who has redeemed us all. I am Mathew Sekanjako, a believer in Christ Jesus (Yeshua HaMashiach), the one Son of God. I serve and confess God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. This intercession is offered in faith, in obedience, and in love, for all who will listen.
