#Worth1000Words - Karin Avila Summertime Fire & Ice
from Travel Writers Radio
Summertime Fire and Ice It was the first day of summer when correspondents Keeley Warren and Karin Avila met in Dénia, a historic coastal town halfway between Valencia and Alicante - once inhabited by the Greeks, Romans and Visigoths. With a looming castle and narrow streets lined with colourful international restaurants and cafes, it was the perfect backdrop for enjoying iced coffee and conversation. The visit coincided with the lead-up to San Juan, one of the most important annual festivals in Spain, celebrating the summer solstice and the birth of St. John the Baptist with bonfires, cava and refreshing dips in the Mediterranean. We think this is definitely #Worth1000Words Photo: Karin Avila (l) with Keeley Warren
