What this episode covers
Why do we suffer? When we function in a godly manner in an ungodly place, unbelievers react to that. They attack the godly to alleviate their sense of guilt and shame. If the are not ashamed when you share Christ, you are not living righteously enough. We cannot call people to repentance without godly sorrow. Sometimes it is God's will for us to suffer, e.g. Job, Joseph, and Hezekiah. Matthew 5:44. You let sinners suffer until they are broken. It is better to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. It was not fair that Jesus came, suffered, and died for us. If it's God's will that I suffer to bring Him glory, I want to be first in line! With Job, Satan asks what Job's motives were for serving God. God did not want Job to suffer, but God wanted Satan's mouth closed. You look forward to do whatever Christ asks glorifying Him everyday eternally in heaven with Him. But you can start now daily. God wants to test us. When you complain about the slightest inconvenience of being a Christian, you rob God of glory. Be joyful that here is a chance to be counted worthy to bring Him glory. Job lost his livelihood, his children, his health, and his wife turned on him. Job's three friends had to bring sacrifices to God through Job as priest since God would accept if Job prayed for his friends' sake. Have a better mindset with more time with His people and in His word.
