Would You Suffer for the Revival You're Praying For?
from Daily Hope with Pastor John S. Dickerson · host John S. Dickerson
What if the revival you're praying for required you to suffer? Would you still say yes? In today's Daily Hope, Pastor John S. Dickerson opens Philippians 3:10, where Paul writes that he wants to know Christ and the power of his resurrection. We love that half of the verse. But Paul keeps going: he also wants the fellowship of Christ's sufferings. Paul didn't treat suffering as proof God had abandoned the plan. He saw it as part of knowing Jesus and as continuing the spread of God's kingdom on earth until Christ returns. Pastor John also turns to Isaiah 53:3, where the coming Messiah is described as a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief, and points to Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane praying, not my will, but yours be done. As Americans, we often assume suffering can never be God's will. Scripture tells a different story. So here's the real question this message asks: if the revival you're praying for in your family, your church, your city, or this nation required you to suffer, would you still want it? What is God asking you to surrender today? Share your answer in the comments. Text "DAILY" to 71093 to receive Daily Hope videos sent to your phone every day.
