Wrestling Omakase #205: New Japan Cup Finals, NOAH 3/21 Korakuen & AJPW 3/21 Kyoto w/ Jeri

This week on Wrestling Omakase we discuss a difficult topic and a whole lot of very average wrestling, save a couple bright spots here or there. The Wrestling Omakase Patreon is your best source for coverage of Japanese wrestling, from yesterday and today. We just concluded our daily coverage of the New Japan Cup and it's still all there for you to listen to, if you'd like to go back and re-live each and every night of the tournament. Coming up next for our daily tournament coverage will be the AJPW Champion Carnival in April! And next week, tune in to an exclusive full-length episode, as John and Quinlan play WRESTLEMANIA RETRO ROULETTE! Which six random matches will they get from six random Wrestlemanias?! Plus, you always get instant access to all of our archived content, including our many 1 Match episodes covering everything from Omakase patron requests, Tokyo Dome main events and famous rivalries, our exclusive Retro Roulette & 5 Matches episodes, ANIME OMAKASE, and more! You can get all of this right now for only $5 at http://patreon.com/wrestlingomakaseJohn is joined by returning guest Jeri Evans (@TheJerriest_Jer) as they discuss happy anniversaries and first hockey games in a long time, among other things. Then they unfortunately have to get into the New Japan Cup finals, including most obviously the very controversial angle that closed the show with Will Ospreay and Bea Priestley. John and Jeri do their best to explain just why that angle left such a bad taste in their mouths and why it just didn't work for them at all. Stop making such shitty decisions New Japan! The two of them also discuss the Ospreay vs. Shingo NJC finals that was completely overshadowed by the boneheaded angle, as well as the rest of an otherwise very sleepy card from Sendai. Then they turn their attention to NOAH and their 3/21 NOAH the INFINITY Korakuen Hall show. They discuss an awesome main event as Iron Head Fujita delivers yet again, a good junior tag title match, and another mostly sleepy undercard. They also look ahead to upcoming shows in April from Korakuen and Nagoya. Finally, John & Jeri wrap things up with a review of AJPW's 3/21 Dream Power Series show from Kyoto KBS Hall. After a few quick thoughts about the famous building and its giant mural, the two of them break down a lackluster Suwama vs. Yoshitatsu Triple Crown title match and yet another sleepy undercard. They wrap things up with a look at next Sunday's tour-ender from Saitama, as well as the opening night of the upcoming Champion Carnival.Follow Wrestling Omakase on Twitter to submit questions for future episodes and get alerts every time new episodes go up (both free feed & Patreon)- @wrestleomakase!Support Wrestling Omakase with a donation through Red Circle!
