This is a terrific interview with Raj Patel, an award-winning writer, activist and academic. He is a Research Professor in the Lyndon B Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas, Austin and a Senior Research Associate at the Unit for the Humanities at the university currently known as Rhodes University (UHURU), South Africa. This conversation is from last fall when Mr. Patel visited Iowa City to give a lecture. It covers a lot of territory but really gets at the intersection of policy, food systems, and their effects on health.
