Writing, Ghostwriting and Editing

from It's All About the Questions · host Laura Steward

Lisbeth Tanz has been editing and ghostwriting for a long time now and gets asked many questions about the process. Here are a few of the questions she is often asked. Is a ghostwritten book equal to a self-written book, do we need to listen to everything an editor tells us? How do I pick an editor? What is a ghostwriter anyway? And so many more. If you have ever thought about writing a book but realize you might not have the best skills, this is the episode for you. Take a listen as Lisbeth shares the ins and outs of hiring a ghostwriter or editor and what it takes to write a book. Lisbeth Tanz, a nonfiction book ghostwriter, editor, author coach, and book-writing educator, works with female coaches, speakers, and entrepreneurs who have a transformational message. Lis' passion is helping her clients see themselves through her eyes and encouraging them to reveal those authentic truths and compelling stories that will move, inspire, and enlighten their audiences. She guides authors striving to make a positive difference in the world by taking them from idea to finished manuscript using her proven book-planning and writing framework. Many of her clients have reached #1 Best Selling on Amazon in their category as well as received prestigious book awards. Lisbeth began her entrepreneurial career in 2005 when she launched The Hired Pen, a company focused on copywriting, article ghostwriting, social media, and blogging. In 2007, she completed her first book edit (1,000 pages of copy!) and loved the entire experience. As her business grew, Lis elected to shed other writing niches to focus only on books. She rebranded to Fuzzy Dog, LLC in 2017 to complete her book-only transition and to honor the memory of her dog, Katie, who'd seen her through the best and worst of times. When she's not working, Lis hangs out in her vegetable and flower gardens, walks with her fiancé around their neighborhood, and plays with her orange cats, Tucker and Fitz.
