WTF is going on?! – Curatorial #02

from Kindred Spirit Talks · host Kindred Spirit

WTF is going on?! Direcção e Curadoria — Sérgio Fazenda RodriguesDesign Gráfico — Raquel MelgueDesign de Som e Edição — Lara Boticário MoraisProdução — Kindred Spirit _____WTF is going on?! – Curatorial (space as device) is a research project that investigates curatorial practice, positioning space as the central conceptual framework for exhibition-making. The project explores a series of four distinct proposals, each examining how the physical dimension of the exhibition environment — from surface and object to the architectural room itself — fundamentally shapes the artistic interventions presented within.A Gruta, a collective project in the basement of the Quadrado Azul gallery in Lisbon, aimed to create a community among artists, works, and the public within a space built from found and recycled materials, challenging the rationality of exhibition spaces. The darkness and organic character of A Gruta invite an active sensory experience: the visitor becomes the editor of their own gaze, guiding themselves by the light of their phone, while the space imposes a heightened awareness of others and the environment. The Saturday openings welcome all ages, promoting free interaction and reflection on childhood creativity and forms of knowledge beyond language. Its inspiration in rupestrian art evokes collectivity, parity, and a horizontal connection to nature. A Gruta was, thus, a collective work in continuous transformation, made from generous contributions and synergies, which challenged hierarchies and proposed new ways of creating, thinking, and sharing in a community. This project is funded by República portuguesa - cultura, juventude e desporto / DGArtes - Direcção Geral das Artes.Supported by Contemporânea, Universidade de Coimbra, STET - Livros e Fotografias, Alfaia e Galeria Ocupa. This entity is a member da Rede Portuguesa de Arte Contemporânea.Direction & Curation — Sérgio Fazenda RodriguesGraphic Design — Raquel MelgueSound Design & Editing — Lara Boticário MoraisProduced by — Kindred Spirit

Tao Te Ching by Laozi (Author), Stephen Mitchell (Full Audiobook) Laozi Lao-tzu's Tao Te Ching, or Book of the Way, is the classic manual on the art of living, and one of the wonders of the world. In eighty-one brief chapters, the Tao Te Ching looks at the basic predicament of being alive and gives advice that imparts balance and perspective, a serene and generous spirit. This book is about wisdom in action. It teaches how to work for the good with the effortless skill that comes from being in accord with the Tao (the basic principle of the universe) and applies equally to good government and sexual love; to child rearing, business, and ecology.Stephen Mitchell's bestselling version has been widely acclaimed as a gift to contemporary culture.
