In our modern context, Christians have defined and practiced church in a lot of different ways, which can get confusing. Is church a building? A movement? A people? All of the above? And why are there so many different kinds of churches? How does the Bible define church and how do we determine what's descriptive and what's prescriptive? With so many different resources, ministries, and parachurch organizations out there, do I even need the church?
