In this episode, Joey previews the Phillies-Astros World Series matchup with predictions and a breakdown of statistics from each team’s top players over the MLB Playoffs. Then, he transitions to the New York Football Giants and praises Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley for their elite starts to the season, leading the Giants to a 6-1 record. He provides an in-depth analysis into the statistics of Jones and Barkley, Dave Gettleman’s two most criticized moves. Joey goes on a rant about Gettleman’s four-year tenure as the Giants general manager and reflects on some of his biggest moves. He takes a side contrary to popular belief and lists out many of Gettleman’s best moves. Despite missing on Nate Solder and Kenny Golladay, most of the remaining Giants team are from the Gettleman Era, with many of them having career years under better coaching. What was the bigger issue: coaching or front office moves? Joey takes the coaching side and defends Gettleman. For the second half of the episode (40:50), Joey is joined by the legend Mark Walsh, the St. Michael’s College ace Joey Hosea, the hockey prodigy Paul Guerard and the King of Dorchester James Hosea (47:21). They discuss everything from sports from their favorite Boston athletes of all-time (1:14:47) to the best MLB City Connect jerseys, all the way to how they believe the Bruins and Celtics will perform this year and whether or not the New England Revolution should move their stadium to the Seaport. They comment on the Patriots’ quarterback controversy between Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe and exchange their views on whether or not Zdeno Chara should have retired a Bruin. Additionally, they debate whether or not Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady’s struggles are the beginning to the end of their careers and whether or not the Red Sox will re-sign Xander Bogaerts and Rafael Devers. At the end, they talk about their favorite artists to listen to before a big game and who they believe will win the World Series.
