🙅♀️ X-Men '97 on Disney+
from New Release Hosted by Drew Lyon
This week on episode #208 of New Release … beta mutants Derrick and Drew go back to a time when superheroes were cool 😎 X-Men ‘97 picks up right where X-Men: The Animated Series left off in the late 90s, and doesn’t miss a beat. That theme song still hits hard and so does its vibrant 2D art style. We discuss what updates were made to bring our favorite mutants back for a modern audience and whether this reboot/revive/reskin succeeds where other nostalgia attempts have failed. The first two episodes are action-packed and we can’t wait to share our reactions. Squad up by searching ‘New Release’ on Spotify or Apple and hitting subscribe. Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 coming next week. God help us. Get full access to New Release at newrelease.substack.com/subscribe
