Xai'Shaun Edwards Seizes Opportunity | Missouri Tigers Football News

The Tigers’ rushing attack is in flux as star running back Ahmad Hardy recovers from injury, with his return uncertain until about two weeks out—just 30 days before the season opener. Jamal Roberts, who rushed for over 700 yards last year and excels as a receiver out of the backfield, will shoulder the load now—and likely even more when Hardy returns. Enter XaiShaun Edwards, a FCS transfer who rushed for 1,000+ yards without a fumble at Houston Christian. Though initially expected to be third-string, Edwards’ speed, balance, and offseason weight gain make him a prime candidate to see increased snaps. He’s also a versatile weapon who returned kicks last year—and could fill that role again with key special teams players gone. Patient and ready to contribute wherever needed, Edwards has a golden opportunity to shine early in the season while positioning himself for bigger roles down the road.
