Xander or Raffy: You can only keep one... Who is it?

Looking ahead, how likely is Xander Bogaerts to opt out?  And how much sense would it make for the Red Sox to try and extend him?   Can he play his entire career at short stop despite the defensive lapses?  Or which other position could he play?
