Well, it is good with you As always we got David in the back yo yo and also we got Devin bringing us the fgce week we reported in how you doing? I'm doing pretty good. What's up everybody this past Saturday after you humans basketball last night for 20 60 to 69 to UNF But on the bright side when the basketball won 76 65 straight into it. I like it Hey on the bright side we got the women's like I'm finna go to a few games there's Yeah, I've been on meds game for like 38 75 at one point But there's your boy T dubs and we're gonna jump right into it exfela take two let's see how it goes this time Fun weekend in exfela, you know Tampa sucks in there too.
Yeah, I can believe that they suck it Yeah, all comes already on the hot seat is not limited But I mean they looking the league is looking better set up than the a of according to players and outside sources I mean what do you guys think about it the exfela? I actually watched the first game not the first game But my first game was on Saturday. It was pretty cool. Actually, I saw a tweet was like someone's like It's like watching two teams play Madden or like watching two people and I agree 100% like it's not It's like your it's like backyard football kind of like everyone's hitting each other Everyone's kind of sucks, but they still playing football So I'll still watch um you're gonna hear first time a New York Guardians fan offer it just because they blew out the Tampa Bay We're vipers and they do have a large fan base So like like when they score people going crazy in the stands like they got good venues my life stadium I know um the Texas team plays in the global life bar in the stadium, which is pretty cool And DC defenders they play all these stadium Like a pretty good crowd and they always got a good crowd going the whole lower bowl is always kind of um filled up and stuff Uh a few of the real changes I like um the kickoff was very fun to watch um it gives them a good chance to return the cake Um, they're saying they were trying to avoid those collisions and stuff which I see I like it.
Um the kickers are awful They are so but they're so funny. I can't believe they like interview them after they miss a kick I'll be pretty pissed off. That's hilarious. I absolutely love the fact that they're literally putting these people on the spot Because that's when you know you're gonna get the rawest emotions.
However, I'm literally not gonna give the exfela chance And so far a few weeks from now. I was heavily invested in the AF and they folded after I think it was week seven I was so disappointed. I went to a new or no, not your own Orlando Apollo's game. I stood there I watched that cheered.
I bought I bought merch. I was super excited. I was all in. Yeah Yeah, and then they didn't have the funding I think that XFL has a lot more support especially from big networks like ESPN ABC but you look at their TV ratings They had I think it was 3.3 million in the AF open up at 2.9 So regardless of you know how the actual product itself is in terms of marketing they had a lot more support and able to draw in another 400,000 people viewership wise.
I don't know if that's gonna give long long stay and sustainability towards them I don't know what the ownership looks like I just know that from prior experience that XFL failed once the AF Filled once other football leagues have failed and you know, I'm just gonna keep following the trends I just don't think they're gonna pan out. I don't see this getting any better for them I kind of look at the helm. I mean, he's looking like he's running this team this league legitimately He has a set up better than an AF because I mean they fit the AF to be honest felt a little rushed It felt like they were just ready to get in this season make money. Oh, this is the new set of your faces We got Cardo Jones Josh Johnson, Aaron Murray That pun error on from the Raiders King King.
Yeah, he had a perfect Come up and just slap it into the zone. Yeah, but but who all right Let's be real about it who goes to football games for one player You don't go for any singular player you go for the shield for the logo for the team And they don't have any sort of pre-existing loyalty to these programs So if you're going there to go watch a game cool Yes, it'll be fun, but you have no reason to stay loyal to these teams like right to say your guardians fan But you're New York everything. This is true. Yeah, right?
That was actually the first game I watched yeah of XFL I think people will catch on just because the amount of attention to the TV contract they have with what is it Fox and ABC Yes, man. They have a contract with ESPN so they're always on the highlights coming soon. Well, actually not wearing a coverage Wasn't bad either they had He's interested It was different at first game with the DC defenders when I'm not right back name for DC Right But I don't think it's gonna be interesting with the whole interviewing afterwards the interview coaches do you like after you went to Regent type Please which is like you said right motion. That's pretty cool And it's also cool to hear some of the plays like over the mic and stuff like that You can hear different like because I remember one time they called J Lo J Lo J Lo I was like I want to see what that is and everybody was doing the replay booth with the Xbox controller.
Yeah, that was funny It was like a replay official upstairs and they had a monitor set up They had a Xbox controller. Oh, yeah, let me step back and he told us a call It gave me good insight to see how referees look over challenges So let me ask you guys this though where you entertained all two and a half hours of the broadcast No, no times. I was like they suck. I mean, but that comes out with football like in general any sport Sometimes you get bored of it, you know sometimes it's exciting.
I don't think it'll ever surpass that It's a good place Yeah, but it goes back to what you said about how they don't really have an established anything right like for the Ravens I know if I go to see a Ravens game I expect my job to do something cool at some point in the game It's the first player with the fourth but like for this they don't have established people do like any crazy type of thing. Yeah, no You could like most of the practice players journey I mean they could make a name for those in the league once they get used to each other once the chemistry gets going Hopefully the lead less, you know past half a season, you know, we get a real taste away Yeah, but that was a great take we're gonna move on to the NBA all-star game coming up this weekend We got team Giannis versus LeBron. You guys. Yeah, I'm gonna go with team LeBron.
Yeah, I mean they have LeBron and Kawhi. Yeah, I'm a if LeBron doesn't win. I'm subtracting go points from an all-star I don't know but you seen his team. Yeah, but his team does it.
That's crazy Yes from all started. He's gonna say that Kawhi doesn't go on low management LeBron James has Anthony Davis James Harden Kawhi Leonard Look at Dodges off the bench Chris Paul Joe Gage and Simmons Jason Tatum Russell Westbrook I would say that the y'all just in the same team. That's a problem I'll tell you what Giannis did a little something He's trying to set himself up for the MVP of the all-star game. That's what he wants.
That's why he didn't pick no ran I was questioning. That's why he didn't take Kawhi. That's why he didn't pick no Superstar hard in he can pick like Jason Tatum any of those people he picked people that can actually play around He picked Pascal you a good player Joel be a good player Cardiac cumba cumba walker I mean good role players on all-star team. Yeah, you gotta look at it from chemistry standpoint.
Yeah, LeBron has a lot of single Superstars players in and of themselves that are very talented and are able to score points But are they gonna be able to mesh well together granted again? It's all-star game Not a lot of defense being played all that said We use what team do you think is gonna be able to have better chemistry the team with probably the MVP of the league? Yannes, I don't care what anyone says never gonna be Damien Lillard But more importantly like he said like you said he set himself up to be the main guy in that team But he's got a lot of talented players around him and plus they're gonna bring a lot of mentality like you said He's got who was it not Jason Tatum, but he's got Joel and B Who's that other big guy? These guys they're not you know, they're not James Harden They're not gonna step back at you the threes a lot But they're gonna be able to stand in the post and just say hey, what's up guys?
What's going on if you were picking an MVP on the I want to say look good I think anybody anybody They could be any of those play I think they're each gonna get a slice of the pie when I'm gonna team John Giannis I think all young so only other player like a way MVP on this team is Jimmy Not Jimmy gonna get the ball in the other chance Scholar Kemba perhaps not even pass call of a campable maybe trail maybe trailing. I'll give it trailing If anyone I got a trail, they do got trey on hoodie hoodie pulling from half court and that might get the job done But I don't know they got a band by Brandon anger. I like to say good game at him. Um, I like a format this year It's a tribute to Kobe of eces wearing two of the west is wearing 24 So what they did was have a regular game their three quarters and in the last game They play up to 24.
I believe from where they was at in three quarters. So let's see how that works I don't know they I still think they need to Put some more incentive in the altar game. I think they should take a page from the MLB I love their all-star young isn't it isn't it that MLB the team that ever wins gets home They get home advantage of the world series I love MLB playoffs that first round is wildcat round and it's best of three. That's insane.
I don't think it's a system though No 135 than seven Yeah The other thing is I know it got rejected but the commissioner definitely sent out that letter saying hey Let's think about doing that mid season tournament. I love that's actually a good idea I think it doesn't it doesn't have to be monetary value because I think they were saying that oh the winner of the team each Player gets a million dollars. That's a lot of money. That's a lot of money to a lot of people But to NBA players that's a penny that's a penny a million dollars to most NBA players I'm not saying it's a penny.
I think look at hard is coming to me The amount that you find is a penny a million dollars million dollars Anybody else million dollars is a lot of money and I'm trying to play that what I'm saying is it doesn't I don't think the prize of winning a Mitzvies a tournament should be Monetary I think it should be something that is prestigious give them a nice trophy a nice ring to have on their on their hand That's tangible evidence of how great they are I think what they wanted to do was you really east and west and then actually that sounds confusing But you know it'd be very confusing and they wanted to receive that's a tournament at that point Yeah, this is a tournament I think they wanted to receive once you got to the conference championships instead of the conference championships You receive them one through four and then the one place of four and the two and three play each other very complicated That would be too complicated for the average viewer. I don't think that would work out I think the mid season tournament was supposed to be that'll be enough for me the mid season tournament supposed to be for like non Contenders like if you're sitting eighth through what 15 in your conference That's what the mid season's where so like play up contenders don't play on day I think they would so because you have like lesser skilled players on those teams I think they would take a million dollars You think they could format it like how college does with their missies and tournaments like you say the SEC versus big 12 Challenge they have that for one weekend like say like a certain division in the east versus a certain division in the west Yeah, they go head ahead and vice versa, you know, that'd be fun at because we were you have 14 Yeah, they could just format it like that. That'd be fun. I've been to division.
I've been to you. Yeah, that'd be fun I just think you're gonna extend the season No, the idea is that you take away the all-star game and instead have a tournament Yeah, okay, so also another thing I was thinking about is why not have it like I you know My big thing is how do you instead of as these players to play hard during this tournament for it to matter You know reason care, maybe maybe it's at the end of the season or the next post season that team Yeah, it's an extra draft pick or something like that where where the team wants to win for not just the right that They say they want to turn it but for some sort of advantage or prize that they get like I said You don't want to end up ring something that's up. That's on the record. It's an accolade playoff seating that could just get messy it because it'll take away from the impact of the regular season yeah And that'll just lead to more load management And we got a beat the buzz essentially coming up and we're gonna hit it off the bright We go off first and you're gonna say your winners and losers so my biggest winner this weekend the Miami He had a little game yesterday they debuted you dollar and J Crowder who both have a lot of performance although they lost They look really good defensively for a first game and J Crowder's in a lot of threes under you Dole's foot put in his footprint on the defensive side as well as catching a few assists as well So go heat to good job for them, you know, that's my winner for the weekend My losers gonna be market king the XFO had a perfect point it dropped around the ten yard line Hit another bounce hit the two Scrabble along the little goal line went to the right and his teammate pushed it in city and so cuz he thought though They do touch me hate to see a selfishness at his finest let your punters win guys let your punters win So I gotta say shout out market king's a good man.
I felt funny Yeah, my winner is actually gonna be Patrick my homes not only is he a Super Bowl champion But over the weekend reportedly back Prescott declined a thirty three million dollar per year deal meaning that he's looking for more money I would say probably the 35 range meaning when you know it comes time for my homes to re up He's definitely looking at at least forty a year So good for him my man's literally gonna be rolling around in cash Scrooge my ducks style jumping into it now in terms of my losers MLB in general this Astros debacle has literally reverberated throughout the entire MLB offseason and it's just getting worse MLB is about to start spring training this week and literally no one cares about anything going on the movie Betts trade all anyone can talk about is how this Astros phenomenon is just the worst thing that's ever happened in the sport Whether it is or isn't and that's only one because we talking about and it's just a bad look for MLB My winner for the week is they I'm have to go with the XFL they're great showing You know, it's a great showing is better than it looks better than the AF at this point I mean sure it's early, but I mean they seem to have a good future They seem to be a very structured franchise But you know sports league but I'm gonna have to move on to my losers going on to the MLB with the mookey Betts trade The whole debacle right there putting whole families in limbo like Justin Turner said these reporters have to wait until the deal is finalized Due to a physical from a twins pitcher That's why the rest of us pulled back and there was this whole weekly well for the whole week There was this whole limbo of will this trade get done? There's a point where everybody was just like all this trade isn't gonna go through but the cats out of the bag You said you wanted to trade your franchise player So how is he supposed to come back at that point? They just at the time this recording they just finished the trade the restructured the Dodgers received David Price and movie bets, but jock Peterson does not go to the angels They just restructured it to you know, keep those two key pieces in there for the Dodgers part of the return But I mean this is a bad showing for the MLB and the reporters the media alongside of it because first I mean being first isn't always the best thing, you know, and this is all we're gonna have for this week We're out of bounds and out of time.
