Our engagement with Taiwanese representatives is consistent with long-standing practices. While UN Resolution 2758 recognised the PRC as China’s representative to the UN, it did not determine Taiwan’s status nor endorse the PRC’s sovereignty claim – the so-called "One China Principle" was neither mentioned in that resolution nor was it ever recognized by the EU. Therefore, the IPAC event did not violate the EU’s one-China policy.
