人們在生活安定之後，不再滿足於「只是活著」，還必須活得比其他人好，而這正是虛榮。佛法講因緣緣生，緣生法都是獨一無二，沒有重複性。因緣不斷流轉，世間沒有相同的兩件事物，即使勉強比較，也不能全然代表。諸法因緣生，沒有勝負、平等、優劣的問題。在修行上，人不要虛榮，不必害怕不如人、被人否定。再美好的事物，都會遭人評價，不必因為他人的評價，讓自己的生命很糾結，你只能憑著良知，盡力而為。
