What are good ways to motivate a teenager to study?Arturo Deza, Robot OpthalmologistWritten Feb 19, 2014Leaving the sexist meme aside and on a more serious note :I always wanted to build awesome stuff, so it came in second nature for me to study robotics and stop being a day dreamer. I think it's also important to teach kids that rewards from study come in later in life. Teenagers want everything fast and without effort, so the concept of sacrifice and perseverance has to be wired in their system by themselves of from an external source, like parents or school.The bottom line is that it's not important to motivate studying to a teenager, as in "get A+ in high school". It's important to teach them how to study what they like, and to identify what they like. Scientists aren't the only people who study (however the media portray them as the only one's who do); artists study paintings and techniques , actors study plays and rehearse over and over again, athlete's study their games and watch other people play, etc ...
