Yaakov and the Angels
from Numu Jewish Bedtime Stories Hosted by Mazel Day School
This week is Parshat Vayeitzei, tonight we follow Yaakov on his long and lonely journey through the desert. Under a sky filled with stars, Yaakov falls asleep and dreams the famous dream of a ladder reaching from earth to heaven, with shimmering angels traveling up and down. In this dream, Hashem promises to protect him, bless him, and guide him home. Yaakov then arrives in Charan, meets the kind and gentle Rachel at the well, works for Lavan, builds a family, and learns to trust Hashem. This Parsha reminds us that Hashem is always with us, even when we feel far away.
