Y’all Save the Date

As we draw nigh unto the end of summer, we wanted to get an announcement out about the Fall… and Advent… and planning your preaching as you get ready for Christmas. It sure does roll around, don’t it? Photo by Elena Mozhvilo on Unsplash John and Delmer are going to host an online workshop on October 22, 2026 — ONE DAY ONLY! — for discussing the texts for the four Sundays of Advent, complete with pastoral colleague conversation and the likely result of some sermon ideas and a goal for the holy season. If you have been to a Two Bubbas and a Bible workshop or retreat before, you know how good and pleasant it is for preaching brothers and sisters to dwell together. If you haven’t experienced what happens in one of these — well, all I can say is I highly recommend it! The workshop begins at 10 am (Eastern time) and concludes by no later than 4 pm; we’ll take a short break for lunch but most of our time will be spent getting into the texts and sharing ideas from the Bubbas and with one another. I’ve never been to a bad one of these… I guess we could offer a money-back guarantee, or some such. The cost for the day is $99… $79 if you are a paid subscriber to Lectionary.pro. (If you need to verify whether you are paid up or not, you can drop me a question in the comments below, or at [email protected]). You’ll get a fancy-dancy course syllabus and what we lovingly call our “text apparatus” for working with the four scriptures for each week. Heck, we may even throw in a copy of the Chilton Quadrilateral, if we can get a round tuit. More info and registration forms forthcoming; just wanted you to know about the date as you plan your calendars! This is a public episode.
