如银的月光里， 一张碧油油的毡上， 羊群静静地睡了。 他们雪也似的毛和月掩映着， 啊！美丽和聪明！ 狼们悄悄从山上下来， 羊儿梦中惊醒： 瑟瑟地浑身乱颤； 腿软了， 不能立起，只得跪着了； 眼里含着满眶亮晶晶的泪； 口中不住地芈芈哀鸣。 如死的沉寂给叫破了； 月已暗澹， 像是被芈芈声吓着似的！ 狼们终于张开血盆般的口， 露列着 的牙齿， 像多少把钢刀。 不幸的羊儿宛转钢刀下！ 羊儿宛转， 狼们享乐， 他们喉咙里时时透出来 可怕的胜利的笑声！ 他们呼啸着去了。 碧油油的毡上 新添了斑斑的鲜红血迹。 羊们纵横躺着， 一样地痉挛般挣扎着， 有几个长眠了！ 他们如雪的毛上， 都涂满泥和血； 啊！怎样地可怕！ 这时月又羞又怒又怯， 掩着面躲入一片黑云里去了！
