Yankees Acquire Schreiber Late | Kansas City Royals News

The Yankees just pulled off a savvy waiver wire grab, snagging reliever John Schreiber from the Royals — a pitcher in his final year of contract who’s been quietly dominant this season. Once rumored to be a deadline trade target, Schreiber stayed put in Kansas City and now heads to New York for the rest of the year. With a solid 3.65 ERA, elite ground-ball inducing skills, and a standout June (14 Ks!), he’s proving he’s worth the gamble. This marks his fourth team in as many years — previously with Detroit, Boston, and KC — and he’s bringing some serious late-inning value to the Bronx.
